Malin Erixon takes part in the exhibition "Tänk om...!" ("What if...!") - 570 square meters, 2 weeks and 30 artists... The exhibition aims to present an alternative to traditional Christmas consumtion, in times of climate threats, oil dependency and financial crisis. Opening: December 10, at 5 pm. "Death by Heart" will be screened at New York City's IFC Center as part of THE SWEDISH EXPERIENCE: 11 weeks of award-winning short films. A few weeks before the Stockholm International Filmfestival of 2006, I was invited to participate in their new competitive section - Mobile Movies. Ten directors (amongst them - Johan Renck, Martin Kellerman and Malou Schultzberg) were invited by the festival in cooperation with Nokia, to make a short film of a maximum of 15 minutes, using only the new cellphone Nokia N93. We were all given the same theme to work on - "Together" - and around 3 weeks to make the films. I ended up making the film "Varandra, Han & Jag" and I'm happy to announce that it was awarded Best Mobile Movie, at the Stockholm Filmfestival award ceremony on Nov 25, 2006. The jury's motivation: "The award for best Mobile Movie goes to a confident director who has used the means available in a surprising and daring manner to create a warm and philosophic piece of entertaining animation. True to her vision while working with new technology." The prize includes a weekend trip for two persons to the Cannes Filmfestival 2007!
